Hi Karen, this is a fantastic article as I am constantly being asked about where I get my protein. I always say spinach and nuts but this gives much more scope.

Many thanks

Thank you Karen, this is a greatly informative article and probably the most common flag that comes up for people when they hear veggie, vegan or raw. Love the numbers you provided! ~Many Blessings

Is adding vegan protein powder in a smoothie to meet protein needs a poor approach?

Karen,
This is a great list of where to get protein in a raw food diet. I don't know much about raw food, just starting to read a bit. Very helpful information, thanks.

Thank you so much Karen for this information! It is so valuable for me at this moment in which I am very new in "the raw food world", and was just what I needed to know!!!!!

Great article on protein Karen - you may like to know of another little fact concerning protein. If you eat animal based food for protein, as many people do, then owing to the fact that the protein is coming from living flesh(or dead most of the time!)it means that the protein is a complete protein and the poor old body has to start breaking it down, back to amino acids. And as you stated the body makes it's own protein as required from the building blocks of protein, amino acids. There is no doubt that the best and most efficient source for the body is from plant based food, in all the ways you've so brilliantly explained. We are so lucky to have you guiding us along the road of raw food - the ultimate healthy way to live.
