SERVES: Makes 9 Quarter Pounders
Oops to publishing the Barbecue Burgers recipe last week wihtout publishing the accompnaying Barbecue Blend! So here it is all in one place for you!
EQUIPMENT
Blender, Dehydrator, Burger maker, Greaseproof paper, Grater
INGREDIENTS
5 cups finely grated carrots
2 cups sweet corn kernels
1 1/2 cups ground sunflower seeds
1 cup Barbecue Blend – see recipe below
1/2 cup ground linseed
4 vine tomatoes
1 diced orange pepper
1 diced red pepper
1 diced yellow pepper
1/4 cup pitted and dried black olives
25g chopped fresh chives
2 Tablespoons of healthy salt
DIRECTIONS
- In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients except the tomatoes.
- Blend tomatoes and pour into large bowl.
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Line a burger maker with greaseproof paper.
- Press mixture into burger maker and press out onto Paraflexx sheet.
- Repeat with remaining mixture.
Barbecue Blend is versatile and can be used in savoury dishes or simply sprinkled on your favourite salad. Makes 1 cup. Simply mix all ingredients together in a bowl and then add to the main recipe.
Barbecue Blend Ingredients
1/2 cup onion granules
1 Tablespoon chilli powder
1 Tablespoon ground coriander
1 Tablespoon paprika
1 Tablespoon salt
1 Tablespoon dried parsley
2 teaspoons stevia
Directions
- Mix together in bowl.
Crunchy Topping Ingredients
3 cups buckwheat soaked 5 hours, sprouted 2-3 days, chopped
6 Tablespoons Barbecue Blend
Directions
- Mix together buckwheat and barbecue blend.
- Sprinkle on top of each burger.
- Gently pat down the crunchy topping.
- Dehydrate burgers for 3 hours.
Place on mesh dehydrator tray and dehydrate for a further 2-3 hours.
