Early January News
There is already something special about 2008, don't you think?
Everyone I am talking to (who is sensitive anyway) feels that this year is going to be an amazing one. I really feel it too... now the question is: How are raw foods going to show up in the world in 2008?
Well, for my part you know what I'm up to as per my post of last week. It's exciting, fun and I really don't think I could be enjoying life much more than I am at present. The more I step into my own flow and joy (as new-age as that sounds!), the more everything seems to work out. This is the "issue" now facing the 14 ladies now working with me in my Raw Passion group which is a follow on to my "30 Days to Raw" program which ended in December. These ladies and I are working together for 3-6 months to see just how amazing they can make their raw life, and that's the challenge - to step out of any residual pains and limiting patterns and into ongoing pleasure (and passion!). "Can it really be too good to be true?" clients are wondering as I teach them about creating their own dream life. Well, I have dived into the waters of figuring that one out, and so far I can say, anything is possible. Fortune favours the brave and all that : ) And this seems to be increasingly where my work is going, and no complaints there! I mean, when you get clean and healthy and know what you want, where else is there to go?!
So on with the news...
This Friday raw food hits mainstream UK TV in the form of a documentary entitled "Health Food Junkies". Featuring our very own lovely Suki Zoe (pictured left - some of you will have met her at Raw Spirit in October if you haven't already met her in the UK) this program has already had a lot of reviews in the national press, but from what I have heard it hasn't been that great, so I am a bit nervous about watching it!
Ironically, this was a project I was very almost a part of but the director had to cancel our meeting/filming due to a pressing deadline and then we never got it together; maybe this is a good thing. We shall see... But kudos to Suki and anyone else involved, because it is no small deal to put yourself in front of a TV camera in the name of raw food when the general climate is still mixed (but definitely coming around) and the media is, well... we know.
Catch it on Channel 4 this Friday at 7:30pm.
Congratulations Alissa Cohen on the soon-to-happen launch of her new raw food restaurant "Grezzo". Meaning "raw" in Italian, from the food photos this looks set to be one of those "must go" places to put on your vision board : )
You can read the full media report here.
And finally, for now, if you've got this far then here's a little whisper...
If you're anywhere near New York or can be on Saturday 29th March then mark your calendar... that is, if you fancy coming to a fantastic event that I will be a major part of : ) More soon! Yay!

Your comment, "I wonder how raw foods are going to show up in 2008," is a manifesation waiting to flood. I remember when I started transitioning to raw about 4 years ago, the only information I knew was http://www.rawvegan.com/. I sensed then, though I was in the minority, it would skyrocket in the next 5 years. Surely it is moving rapidly. Thanks for all your contributions. Your blogs are intriguing!

Exciting to see this increasing global awareness of the Raw Food Lifestyle. Last time I was in London many years ago, there were only hard unedible oranges and hardly anything else in the shops. Things must have changed. Or may be I did not know where to go.

I have to agree with you about 2008 - I think it's going to be an incredible year!
I am aiming to go at least a little "raw" this year, but I'm still undecided as to how much. My sister introduced me to the idea awhile ago when she started it, and it's been in the back of my mind ever since.

Sounds like there's some real positive things going on in Britain regarding the Raw Food lifestyle....it certainly appears that there is a real difference in the attitude towards alternative health in the U.K. as compared to say the western world. When I read about the U.K. investing in its children (ok so there probably are some things going on over there that we may not be aware), I hope that attitude is adoped more seriously here.

Wish I could catch this show! I do agree that good things are in store for everyone. It is a Leap Year this year, that and power of the universe is working on behalf of everyone. The Raw Food lifestyle is reaching more global awareness. 2008 should be fantastic Karen!

Great news about the show - raw food is definitely making it mainstream. I hear Alissa Cohen is already filming a raw food show for Food Network. When you make yours, this will make three!!!! YES! This IS a fantastic year.
Can't wait to see you in New York!
