Phew! It's amazing to think that although I've been doing this stuff for years, it was only in January that I finally went full time.
Funny to think that I was "worried" that there might not be enough work to do : ) In fact, even thinking that was a possibility now seems pretty hilarious - it's got so busy that I've hired three virtual assistants and there's another on the way!
So, seeing as The Raw Food Coach is growing so fast, I thought it about time you got to meet my blossoming "team" as chances are you'll be touched by their efforts one way or another - if not already, then very soon. So without further ado, here, pictured left, is the first VA I hired, Tracey Lawton, a British lass who is based in Ohio (USA) with her hubby and two children. Tracey is one of the cheeriest people you'll ever meet, caring, efficient, knows her stuff and she's even developed a passion for raw food after transcribing some of the calls I hosted last year with The Fresh Network! For this reason she's been the perfect choice of VA as she genuinely cares about the work I/ we do and the people we help. She's just great! As far as roles are concerned, it's Tracey who runs my affiliate scheme and, as soon as we've redesigned the current version, it's Tracey who will soon be in charge of formatting and mailing my revamped weekly eZine, as well as the new Affiliate eZine as well! (I'll ask Tracey to more formally introduce herself soon).
Next up is Lilach Bullock. Lilach and I only connected online a couple of weeks ago (and quite by coincidence too), but she officially starts as my Virtual PA tomorrow as we it hit off instantly and she offers exactly what I'm looking for, so in due course she'll be the one taking all my calls and answering emails, as well as about 40 other things I listed in her job description yesterday! (Who'd have thought running a company like this would involve so much? - you'd be surprised!). It will also be Lilach (pronounced "Lil-a") who will take care of all event bookings and organisation as well - hurrah!
So why all this delegation?
Well, first of all a few weeks ago I found myself feeling as swamped as I did when I ran The Fresh Network! And considering that one of my main aims for this year has been to create the work and lifestyle of my dreams (more anon) I realised very quickly that overwhelm was definitely not part of the picture!
Not only that but all my pet projects - like finishing my book, creating more products and creating the online membership offerings - weren't getting adequate time and attention, because there was just none left at the end of the day. So, hurrah for Tracey, Hilary (my book keeper), Lilach and number four will remain a surprise for now!
As for me, well this weekend we have the Raw Inspiration Day here in Ely. I have such a great feeling about this event, I just know it's going to be so special. All 40 places went in exactly a week, which is unprecedented sign-up speed for a raw food class in the UK I'm sure!
So, for the next few days I'll be busy ordering in food, prepping, making about 85 raw tortillas (claim to fame: One of my dehydrators, and one I'll be using for my class this weekend, used to belong to Woody Harrelson - no kidding!), and I'm finishing off the recipes and menu planning packets too. It's been a long time since I taught a group of 40 - not including The Fresh Festival last October - so I'm really looking forward to managing 40 hungry visitors; it's looking like a really great crowd!
Finally, as for the next few weeks, this will be my very last event now until my Raw Coach Training and my next Raw Food For Beginners Weekend in June. The date of the latter has just been moved to June 16-17th, and if you cast your eye to the right of this page you'll see just a few of the truly mouthwatering creations we make during what is always but always a life-changing weekend! Fancy some of that? Don't wait to book - I'm bringing the courses back home again (more cosy and practical), which means 9 people rather than 20, so don't miss out!
OK, so off to bed for me. Look what happened... it's 2am again! Can't wait for Lilach to get going!
