Very happy to back again and be able to spend 15 minutes catching up on all that's happened in the past week!
After I came home last Wednesday night after being away for 2 days, Pete then went on holiday for a week (Pete being "Fresh Network Pete" and Luke's dad), and Emma's last day was Friday (after 3 months away from Kent she got homesick and is back with ma and pa : ( ... we shall miss her, but she'll still be helping on some courses, so all is not lost!).
...So you can imagine! ~~ 2 businesses, 3.5 year old boy, hot days, sweaty nights!
So, with a little help from Jenny our book-keeper I've been running The Fresh Network pretty much alone as well as coaching and preparing for this Saturday's event with Brian Clement (if you haven't booked yet, tomorrow's the last day to book so that you get your tickets in time). I think I've managed a few breaths in there somewhere and last night I had a fantastic 2 hours of massage and 8 hours sleep, so I'm much improved!
Anyway... This would explain my absence, and this is just a very quick post to remind you about Brian's event this Saturday (it's his only one with us this year as he cannot make the Festival; he's also one of my favourite speakers on raw/living foods worldwide - and I don't say this lightly), and also to let you know...
Wednesday 12 July: I'm being interviewed live on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire 96FM at 11:15am for 5 minutes. I've literally just taken the call from the station, so this is hot off the press! Hope some of you can tune in.
Friday 14 July: Launch of Successfully Raw eZine. For those of you who have signed up already, thank you! I've got your details and you'll be receiving your first eZine on Friday 14th, ready for the weekend. If you're new to this blog or missed the recent announcement, then you can sign up here. If you're a raw food fan you'd be mad to miss it!
Saturday 15 July: Raw Food for Beginners 1-Day Course - this is very likely the last one day course I will be running this year, so if you've been dithering about whether to book or not, now is the time to just do it, or you'll have missed the boat! To do so, call 01353 723976 or email me for more info.
Saturday 22-23 July: Raw Food for Beginners 2-Day Course - this is now full, but my next one in August (5th and 6th) has just 3 spaces left. Particularly important to note as my September course has just 1 space left and then all that leaves is November! So if you've been wondering about this one (the weekend course goes a lot deeper), I really would say that if you want to do a weekend course before November you definitely need to book it now.
Saturday 29 July: Mexican Night! Our second London dinner party is taking place in Victoria from 7pm until 10:30pm and the theme is Raw Mexican. We're taking up to 35 people and we're already half full (it could actually be more), so if you'd like to be there to meet some great people and taste great food in a great venue, then what are you waiting for? It's a wonderful night out and yes, it's all raw and all delicious - a rare treat indeed! Menu and details here.
So that's July taken care of, and we've only just entered it! Such is life at the moment, but as I mentioned a few posts back, big changes are coming for me, but these things take time... and planning. Meanwhile, I've been busy working on my web site (big project!) and working on the media section has taken ages... Emma worked her way through over 50 pieces of mainstream press, scanning and sorting, and it's been amazing to see both how the press' attitude towards raw food has evolved over more recent times and also how I've changed (some of those earlier photos of me are just plain scary!!).
So my next post is an article we came across while doing the media sort which was published when Feel-Good Food came out. Interesting reading and what I like about it especially is the author's ability to put into words what she went through emotionally as well as physically, which is exactly what everyone goes through - except many people don't put it into words or "get it" right away.
On an altogether different note, I've recently learned that the Little Earth Cafe in London (some would say the best raw eaterie in the UK) is closing at the end of the month. So, if you've never been, go there ...before it's too late! What a shame : (
